26 April - PONDERINGS ON SPEM, SPAM AND SPEMCAST

What a fantastic concert at Greyfriars' Kirk, Edinburgh that Peter Gregson cooked up last night - including a varied and interesting programme of music inspired by Tallis's 40-part motet. It was great to be a part of proceedings and it was a world first: not only enticing a sell-out audience at the venue, but also delivering a live stream online (to much acclaim among viewers as far away as Japan and the US, as Peter mused to camera in between pieces!)

This is the kind of initiative that new music needs these days - and it was very exciting to have been involved.

Oh - and he performed my piece 'Spem Fantasia' rather beautifully as well.

22 April - SPEM FANTASIA ON ITUNES!

The enterprising cellist Peter Gregson's new album 'Spem', featuring works from his forthcoming concert in Edinburgh this Friday, simulcast over the internet, is now available on iTunes, and includes a specially comissioned work, 'Spem Fantasia', scored for acoustic/electric cello and tape.

For more information on 'Spem Fantasia', go to the Works list.
